About Return to Mogadishu

Twenty years after the Battle of Mogadishu, Jeff Struecker, a former Army Ranger from the fight and a key character in the film Black Hawk Down, returns to what is still considered the most dangerous place in the world – the streets of Mogadishu - in order to relive the battle. Filmmakers share Jeff’s first-hand story while driving through the city streets. The film uncovers the emotions experienced by spe- cial operators during the battle, seen as Jeff wrestles with the aftermath of a place that reshaped his personal perspective on life and death.

How I was involved

I worked side by side with the producer, Mary Beth Minnis, to organize four preview screenings of the documentary in Italy. I translated and adjusted the text for the dubbing of the audio into Italian, I directed the actors that dubbed the documentary, and then organized the four screenings in Rome, Florence, Modugno and Bari through a marketing strategy that reached over 500 people with the inpiring story of Jeff Struecker.
  • The screening of Return to Mogadishu helped our church to realize how impactful cinema can be to reach people for God. Now we can see that a new ministry for the follow-up of the people is born thanks to this event and we can't wait to have more.

  • "Return to Mogadishu was a wonderful catalyst in helping us jump into a deep and rich spiritual conversation with my friend, Benedetta. We've been processing the Gospel with her for over a year now, but because Jeff's story focused so much on eternity and the importance of a relationship with Christ, we were able to ask her clearly where she now stands with God. I was so thankful for this opportunity to continue moving forward in my ministry and friendship with her"
